Parenting Issue

I was tagged by The New Parent to spill the beans on an important parenting issue - it's whether or not I spare the rod.

I believe in tenderness - tender words and tender touches. I believe in gentle but firm guidance of a parent to a child. I've seen how effective that is to my child.

I try to do that all the time BUT I also have to admit of the times
when I mess up. I really am struggling to be a gentle and understanding parent (because I want my kid -or coming kids- to be gentle and understanding parents to their kids, too). I am working on that everyday and everyday, I also find areas for improvement.

I'm tagging no one in particular but if you want to play go ahead, copy and fire away.

I believe in tenderness too. Sometimes we had an arguments with hubby because of how he handle our daughter.

Hi Z--it's important to be gentle and teach that way of being to our little ones. It can be frustrating at times, byt those are the times we need to work on ourselves (wink).

Thank you for participating and doing a wonderful job!

This is a tough topic. We also struggle hard to spare the rod. But we do practice firm guidance.

Musta, Zam? Namaste from Kathmandu!
I share the same sentiments with Ms. Thess here :) My babies are my dogs... at least for now.
Pero come to think of it, when it comes to nephews and nieces from cousins, they find me istrikto kuno. Hmmmmm....

I love your response Zam. I agree with tenderness too. And we're all work in progresses, aren't we! :)

A little bit of both. My son is very sensitive. If I swat him on the legs, it's because he honestly needed it. wow, now i sound like a bad mommy;)
