How Can IT Certification From Cisco Change Your Life?

How can IT Certification from Cisco change your life? That is the question. How indeed?

Have you read about my IT practitioner friend who was highly qualified of a position in our company and whom I recommended to the Human Resource Department but sadly was not hired? If you’ve not read that story, let me relive it now.

This friend has been in the IT business for a significant number of years – more than 7 years really. In fact, he has designed many networks to date and one was the backbone network of my husband’s previous company. I really had no doubt of his capability and to my assessment, with his experience and skill, he was everything our company would want and so I recommended him for a spot in our company. He went through the usual process of course – series of examinations and interviews (well, that’s a standard operating procedure and I’m not too powerful as to give him an easy access to that job position!). But much to my surprise (not to mention disappointment), when the final result came in, he was not hired!

I was so sorry for the unfavorable result and it definitely was a sad thing because I know he is a competent IT professional. But do you know what made the big bosses not hire him? He had no Cisco certification to back him up. No, not a single one. And that made the world of difference.

At some point a CISCO certification whether it is in Design (CCDA), Routing and Switching (CCNA), Security (CCNA Security), Voice (CCNA Voice) or Wireless (CCNA Wireless) wouldn’t make much difference. But I have changed my mind. It is important. Because in the real world, a certification and an endorsement are part of “the qualification.” But in a positive sense getting a certification, not only help in the advancement of career but with the extra learning also gives one the confidence to face the real world.

Nahirapan ako sa tema ngayong linggo at nde na sana ako sasali...pero buti nlang naisipan ko ang beach...at ang Boracay!

Sabi ni Mister Wikipedia:
Boracay is a tropical island located approximately 315km (200 miles) south of Manila and 2km off the northwest tip of the island of Panay in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

Translation: I had a difficult time looking for a photo for this week's theme. Good thing I thought of the beach...and thought of the beautiful Boracay at the last minute! (My photo didn't do much justice of the place, kaya pasensya na po.)

Mister Wiki supports my photo with the geographical description of Boracay. So guess, I need not say more. :-)

Happy Thursday, everyone!

Flippin' Fitflops

I love slippers (or flipflops as others like to call it). They are airy. They are soft. They are lightweight. They are comfortable.

During my mini-vaca to Boracay, the only footwear I brought was a single pair of Photobucketflipflops. From the city to the beach, that’s all I really need (well, next to the sunscreen). But really, if you know me, that isn’t such a big surprise as I practically wear them anywhere. I wear them to the grocery (all the time!). I wear them in the office (trust me I do!). I wear them to church (believe it!). I’ve even worn them to a government office that doesn’t allow visitors wearing slippers (and yes, I was refused entry).

But despite this not too good experience, I still dig flipflops and use them most of the time. I have even bought a new pair of very soft flipflops from Brazil. It’s not like a pair from the Fit Flop collection though. But it would have been great if it has the micro wobbleboard™ technology of the Fitflops that help simulate a workout with every step one makes, thus helping one achieve a well-toned and trimmed muscles on the thighs and bum. Amazing ey? Imagine to be working out without going to the gym –that’s just every woman’s dream! But sadly, my new pair fall short because only with a pair of Fit Flops that that dream is made possible.

Fitflops are available in 6 colors and may be ordered at http://www.sweatybetty.com.

Angels

My son so loves this song. I have it in my iPod and when we were in the hospital, he'd ask to listen to this. One time he even requested to watch it on the PC but told him we don't have PC in the hosp.

This is also one of the Robbie Williams song that I sooo love.

Paboritong kulay ko ito. :-) Obvious na obvious naman ito sa header pa lang ng blog.

Translation: I am partial to shades of green -and that's pretty obvious judging from the look of this blog. In some points of my life, it has become an obsession.

Test Your F Abilities

One of the worst pick up line I ever heard was “You look so hot, are you thirsty?” I’m not the recipient of this though but a friend was. And when she related this incident to me, it just cracked me up. But had it been directed to me, I’d have slapped the guy who said it. I’m pretty violent huh? Lol. But don’t you agree it’s one of those pick-up lines that just won’t work? Or have you heard something more malevolent than that?

So why am I suddenly talking about the worst pick up lines? It’s because of the Extreme Style by VO5's Ultimate Flirting Championship game. Have you heard of it, or even played it already? It’s a game where one outflirts an opponent and a judge then picks the player who gives the pleasant flirting lines as winner and get the Victory Hair (which is achieved when two people meet, collide and get electricity coursing through their veins :-) )

If you haven’t played the game, try it and test your flirting abilities. I’ve been waiting to play it. Yesterday, I waited in the waiting room for more than an hour without success. But I’ll see what happens today -yup, I'm in the waiting room again!

Happy To Be Back

Though I didn't miss it much, it's good to be back blogging. I had a forced blogging hiatus for almost five days due to my son's hospitalization. I have kept my blogs alive though - because I had few scheduled posts which were prepared in advance. Now I have lots of catching up to do. :-)

Test Your Memory And Flirt Your Way

Being a sucker for lovestories, it wasn’t hard to convince me to play the Extreme Style by VO5's Ultimate Flirting Championship where one can test the classic ines from their favorite Hollywood movie(s). Okay, I should say that in reality I’m a rather timid flirt (haha…is there such a thing?) but maybe I eventually learned to use some charm on my husband *batting the lashes* . Maybe I have given him the "You complete me" line before or maybe I did the ''I'm... just a girl, standing infront of a boy, asking him to love her” ala Julia Roberts in Notting Hill. But I sure as sugar I didn’t drop this line: ''Well, aren't you the sweetest space toy I ever met!”

Anyway, unto the game, it’s really an easy one –you just need to fill in your birthdate, choose a name or use the default name. Then, to add character to your name, one gets to choose the face he/she wants. Then you’ll be put into a waiting room until there are 3 players to play for the game. One may either be a judge or a contestant. If you’re assigned as a contestant, you have 30 seconds to answer the judge’s question in a fin and sexy way. The goal is to outflirt your opponent. The judge then picks the best flirt as the winner of the Victory and get Victory Hair along with the judge.

As of this writing, I’m still in the waiting room since the players are not complete yet. I will have to update later of the outcome of this game. I've been in the room for almost an hour already and I am excited to see what's going to happen. Now how about hopping on in the room at http://www.vo5victoryhair.com and we’ll play the Ultimate Flirting Championship and have fun. It shouldn’t be too hard, right?

Last Week's PI Performances

I'm not much of a fan of hers (I'm more of Sue's) but I guess Penelope's performance last week was her best so far. And I think, among the other performers, hers was the best that night. The song she chose perfectly suits her crystal clear voice. It also showed us her vocal range. If she performs like this week after week, I sure would love to see her win.

Will she be the first Pinoy Idol?

Now, Sue's performance, on the other hand, was surprisingly not too good. I hope she'll do better next time.

Eliminated: Robby Navarro. His was neither a great nor a bad performance. Personally, I don't want him to go - not yet. I have someone in mind who should be eliminated. But the text votes must have spoken for everyone.

As one of the judges said, the winner is on the voters hands.

Monster Mom = Me

It's pure coincidence. Or is this a sign? But I saw the stars of My Monster Mom promote the movie on TV and I had to laugh because at I have been feeling like a monster mom myself.

Lots of scenarios at home. Lots of emotions. Lots of incidents. At the moment, I just don't feel like putting it all into words (either on this blog or my other one) because I know I'll only end up to be more than an emotional wreck (as it is, I already am!). I can just imagine the post to be hilariously serious and seriously hilarious. Sappy and HORRIBLE. And I am already feeling horrible in my capacity as a parent. But this I have to say, I really am groping in the parenting department. But I'm trying to be a good monster mom. *wink*

Anyway, about this flick, My Monster Mom seems like a good comedy offering from two production outfits in the country- GMA Films and Regal Films. I hope it will do good in terms of movie sales. I'm not watching it but I hope those who will watch it will be satisfied (and those who have watched it are satisfied).

The Tuttles Madcap Adventures

I played this game by Legacy Interactive, a company known for developing intelligent, realistic, and engaging games for a broad audience. And I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not playing it everyday (no, no. no...) but sometimes, I double click its shortcut on my desktop.

It's about a family and their misadventures on the way to Alamo.

Here are the main characters of the game:

The Tuttles family: (R to L) Jess, Barry, Barbara and Zach

Barry on the dessert

You may see more of the review of this game I made a month or so ago here.

Pacquiao -Diaz Fight Resulted To Zero Crime Rate

Between 8AM and 3PM of June 29, the NCR police recorded no crime commissioned around this time. Really, even kidnappers, robbers and other elements adore Manny Pacquiao enough to postpone their activities. Lol. Even the volume of traffic was down at minimum around here.

I really am not over the big win of the Pambansang Kamao over David Diaz. It was an astounding finish when he had Diaz flat on his face in the 9th round. It really was an exciting match -and Pacman, who was in his best form during the fight, almost didn't suffer a scratch!

Again, Congratulation to the first Asian to win titles in 4 divisions! 4 divisions - and he is still showing no sign of stopping. So more power to you!
