Saturday 9: Lie to Me

Saturday 9: Lie to Me

After a long while, I've decided to update my blog and participate to Saturday 9 again. =D

1. Can you tell when someone is lying to you?
-sometimes

2. Tell us about one of your flaws. Do you live with it or try to correct it?
-Flaws? Do I have one? *thinking* Ah, maybe claws. *wicked witch laugh*

3. When was the last time you laughed hard and what struck you as funny?
-Can't remember but I always laugh so hard - someone said like a peacock- even at the shallowest joke.

4. Tell us about a time when you should have tried harder.
-For me, everyday is always a time to try harder -try harder to be a good wife, a parent, a friend, a sister, a daughter, a citizen of my country...

5. If you won the lottery, what would you buy first?
- A house with a studio

6. What movie do you know every word to?
-I've watched Meet Joe Black a lot of times that I already feel like I'm part of the cast.

7. What was the best thing that happened to you this week?
-Seeing my three-year old read simple words.

8. What was the worst thing that happened to you this week?
-Thanks God there's none. =D

9. What do you think is the biggest difference between men and women?
-Their needs. And then, men are visual; women are emotional (generally).

Advance Happy Mother's Day

The country is still celebrating Pacquiao’s big win last Sunday. The print and broadcast media (and the blogging community too) are all talking about him. But why not. Pacman is one big newsmaker indeed and he always makes the Filipinos happy with his conquests in the boxing arena. I can just imagine how jubilant his family must be with this recent victory. I bet Aling Dionisia must be the proudest and happiest mother in Las Vegas these days. The victory must have been an advance Mother’s Day gift to her. *grin*

Now speaking of Mother’s Day, I’m so stumped as to what I’m going to give my mother this weekend. I surely am no Pacquiao in terms of wealth (and strength) but I’d also like to give “something” to my mother on Mother’s Day. The only thing is, I still don’t know what that “something” would be. *smile* I’m actually deciding whether to buy her a gift myself or to give her the resources to buy herself a gift. But I'm leaning on the latter.

Now how about you, what are you giving your mother (or the mother of your kids) on Mother’s Day? Are you picking up a book for her? Or a new car perhaps? Jewelry?

For those of you who are looking into jewelry gift items, Gemz N Gold, a designer and manufacturer of high quality jewelry in California USA has a wide collection of eye-catching designs that will surely capture every woman's heart. So why not say Happy Mother's Day with these diamond-studded pieces?

I'd have given my mother one of these too if only she's fond of jewelry (but she's not). BTW, as Mother's Day offer, Gemz N Gold is including a red jewelry box for your every purchase of jewelry on or before May 11, 2009.

(To all moms out there: Happy Mother's Day!)

Me

You Communicate Honestly

You don't mince words. You are to the point and all about the facts.

However, you are charming enough to tell people the truth yet still not offend them.

It's likely that you have a hilarious, no holds barred sense of humor. And you sure tell an entertaining story!

You're also quite open. People can ask you anything, and you don't shy away from controversial conversation topics.

Got nothing else to do but this...*smiles*

Saturday 9: Letting the Sparks Fly

Saturday 9: Letting the Sparks Fly

1. Where would you go if you wanted to spark your creativity?
My room

2. What would be one thing that would embarrass you a great deal?
Fumbling with my bag and finding out that I wasn't able to bring my wallet with me (when it's already time to PAY!)

3. What values did your parents instill in you?
Hardwork, perseverance, love of God... it's a long list.

4. What’s a fad of your teen years that you remember well?

Tattered jeans, abaca bags and music of Jon Bon Jovi.

5. What is your favorite breakfast?

Rice and dried fish with spicy vinegar. Or the tandem of rice and bacon.

6. What is the best birthday gift that you have received?

I wouldn't want to divulge this. :-)

7. What gadget could you not live without?

Phone.

8. Do you collect anything?

Saturday 9: Time Has Come Today

Saturday 9: Time Has Come Today

1. What time of day do you usually play Saturday 9?

Depends if I'm busy or not. Working or not. But usually I try to do it in the morning (although today I'm doing at at 10PM!).

2. At 9AM on a weekday, what are you doing?

Working.

3. At 9PM on any given night, what would you most like to be doing?

Sleeping. Or making my son sleep. *smile*

4. What is your most frequent activity online?

Blogging and reading blogs, the news or tutorials.

5. Is there one day of the week that seems to fly by? If yes, why?

When the hubster is home, the days seem to fly by!

6. Do you agree that the older you get, the faster time seems to go by?

I don't think that has something to do with age. For me, it has something to do with my activities. The clock seems to run faster when I'm too busy and pre-occupied to even check the time!

7. What is your favorite thing to do with free time?

Bum around. Sit and think of what to do next (ironic!).

8. How much time do you spend alone? Would you like it to be more? Less?

I haven't been alone for the longest time! With a kid at home, how can I be alone? *chuckle*
Would I like it to be more or less? I dunno. I'm sure I'd miss my son too much I'd end up crying rivers of tears (like what happened before when I was sent away for a company-sponsored training). But it's also good to really have few minutes just for myself every day.

9. If you could spend one hour doing something what would it be?

Shoot pictures (but an hour wouldn't be enough!)

Saturday 9: The First Apartment

Saturday 9: The First Apartment

1. Where had you moved from?

My parents house. I was fresh out of College then.

2. Describe your first apartment.

It's a two-story wooden-concrete structure with a little veranda. I was living with 3 other girls. I remember that there's a little space at the back (where we do our laundry) where you can see the sunrise.

3. How old were you when you had your apartment?

I was 21. I celebrated my 22nd birthday there. It the most fun birthday party I ever had!

4. Did you have roommates? If yes, tell us more.

I did. The other one is my close friend and classmate in college. The two other girls are reviewees, too. Sadly, among the 4 of us, 1 flunked the Board Exam. I haven't heard anything of her eversince.

5. What was your place of employment then?

None.

6. How were you finances at the time?

I was dependent of my parent the whole time I was reviewing for the Board. What a shame! BUT I really had no time to take a part-time job because I was reviewing full-time and the schedule was pretty hectic.

7. Tell us about a lover who spent a night there.

None. I. swear. I was unattached then :-)

8. Tell us about a band you listen to then. (You can cheat. Look it up.)
I honestly couldn't remember. Ahh yes, Matchbox 20 and Nirvana.

9. How long did you live there and why did you move from there?
I lived there for about 6months or so - I would have stayed longer but I had to go home after taking the Board Exam. It's part of the deal I had with my parents. :-) I went back to this city a couple of months later -but I no longer stayed in that apartment.

Something About My Name

Took this fun test/game online about finding what's sexy in a name. *chuckle*

Actually, I'm autoposting this and without funfare, here's the result.

What's Sexy About Your Name

You are sexy because you are a challenge. You don't play hard to get... you are hard to get.

You aren't very focused on love or sex. For you, career goals come first.

So while you are successful and attractive, you hardly ever notice who's pursuing you.

You're wary about entering relationships... which just makes people want you more.

When you finally do decide to be with someone, you are deeply committed.

You work as hard on your relationship as you do anything else. Success is important to you.

Tuesday Toot #1

I'd put in three toots, hoots, whatever today.

First toot. I'm joining the Tuesday Toot Meme for the first time. Yay! *smile*

The next one would be a little of a downer. I've lost my PR. =( It's a big round-Oh for me. But hey, that's fine. I had fun while I had my PR. Besides, it's not as if that's all there is to blogging.

And the third one is I've been a little preoccupied learning the ropes of my new lens , which I got very recently. Love it so far.

Guilt-Free

I’m so happy (despite having spent some hard earned cash enough to pay for a month-long gasoline supply).

Yesterday, I received a call from a staff of a camera shop informing me that the prime lens I ordered is already available in their shop. Haay, after more than three weeks of waiting, the lens has finally arrived. I ordered this lens because it is cheap. Second, I want to try doing more portrait shots, hoping to learn more about photography in the process. For an amateur like me, it is a good steal. I am also planning to bring this lens in our upcoming vacation.

It was absolutely hard to contain my excitement so after work yesterday, I immediately proceeded to the mall where their shop is located. After the initial tests, I paid for the lens. While waiting for my purchase, the staff (who called and whom I already befriended through time) informed me that they have an available lens hood for the kit lens I have. This lens hood is hard to find these days –at least in this city. So after thinking about it for few minutes, I decided to add it to my purchase.

In the pretext of checking other camera models, I walked away from this staff and moved to the other side of the showroom (but this I purposely did for fear that he might mention another item which I would eventually be tempted to buy. lol.). Later did I realize that that was not a too brilliant idea. Why? As I was checking stuffs at the front part of the room, I spotted a camera bag that looks perfect to me. Very much like what these red Lowe Alpine rucksacks are doing to me at this very moment, its red color mercilessly teased and seduced me. In the end, horribly giving in to the temptation, I picked it up and brought it to the counter! But that bag is truly irresistible.

Going home empty-pocketed but not empy-handed, I shamefully realized that I failed economy-wise. But I'm happy and I believe it's money well spent.
