Checking Wisconsin

I found interesting trivia about Wisconsin this afternoon:

Producing more milk than any other state in the USA, Wisconsin is the dairy capital of the United States.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin is home of Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

Green Bay, Wisconsin's oldest city is the Toilet Paper Capital of the World.

With these, I gather it must be interesting to live in the Wisconsin area. But how safe is it in Wisconsin? Are there criminals i.e sex offenders living in the area? If you live in Wisconsin, you might want to check how safe your neighborhood and Locate Wisconsin Sex Offenders, if there is any. Just click the link.

Checking Local Court Records

Wherever you are in the USA, if you're ever in need to check legal documents or local court records such as Criminal Court Records, fret no more. The WorldWideWeb presents a site that gives users the opportunity to check these court records. It's really a great thing, try it now.

Checking The Neighborhood

How safe is your neighborhood? Do lawless criminals live there? Or God forbids but does sex offenders live there?

If you’re living in Indiana, there is a site where you can look OFFENDERS. Find out now. Remember there’s power in knowing and you can protect yourself if you know more.

LP: Sa Gawing Kanluran

Photobucket

Nahirapan ako sa tema ngayong linggo at nde na sana ako sasali...pero buti nlang naisipan ko ang beach...at ang Boracay!

Sabi ni Mister Wikipedia:
Boracay is a tropical island located approximately 315km (200 miles) south of Manila and 2km off the northwest tip of the island of Panay in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

Translation: I had a difficult time looking for a photo for this week's theme. Good thing I thought of the beach...and thought of the beautiful Boracay at the last minute! (My photo didn't do much justice of the place, kaya pasensya na po.)

Mister Wiki supports my photo with the geographical description of Boracay. So guess, I need not say more. :-)

Happy Thursday, everyone!

LP: Ihip ng Hangin

Photobucket

Translation:
Taken in Sta Fe, Bantayan Island, Cebu four years ago on a stormy day. We - hub and I- were at the back of our room, just enjoying the scene down below. The island is a perfect place to be if you want some quiet time by the beach. It still is my favorite holiday spot (Boracay comes second only). The weather is just unpredictable though - it was sunshine-y when we arrived in the island but the following day it was stormy.

Kung naka akyat kayo sa observation deck ng Chocolate Hills, tiyak na pamilyar sa inyo ito. Eto ang posteng may mensaheng nakakaiyak ng tamtaks.
Pero sa seryosong usapan, sana naman. Kapayapaan, kaibigan.

New York, New York

Are you interested to enroll to any fashion school in New York? Here’s a tidbit for you. Do you know what these famous names - Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Donna Karan - have in common? All three are New Yorkers. And that must speak something about fashion in the streets of New York.

So for those in the lookout for New York fashion schools, keep that in mind because fashion schools New York may just put that dream of yours into reality.

More Sights in UK

I always think of England as a place where the old and new structures altogether create a distinct charm that is timeless -and priceless (sa lakbit nga pagkasulti, mahal kaayo mobiyahe didto!). So, here are more sights in the UK.

In Newcastle:

Above is the spectacular Gateshead Millennium Bridge, the world's first and only tilting bridge.

With a height of 65ft (more than the height of double decker buses) and width of 175ft (more than the Statue of Liberty’s height), the Angel of the North is an awe-inspiring modern sculpture made of weather-resistant steel containing copper.

Other spots to see are Newcastle Castle, The Quayside, Cathedral of St. Nicholas and other museums and parks. Interested? You could also check the list of Newcastle hotels nearest the spot that appeals to you.

In Cardiff:

Millennium Stadium

Aside from Cardiff Castle, the Millennium Stadium, which is used to house rugby and football games, is a famous landmark in Cardiff with its 72,000-plus seats and sliding roof. The most memorable game held here was a game in 2006 when Wales won the rugby Grand Slam by beating Ireland. The Stadium is also a venue to music concerts of artists such as The U2, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Robbie Williams, The Rolling Stones and Madonna.

Cardiff Castle

Other spots to see are Llandaff Cathedral, The Welsh Regiment Military Museum at Cardiff Castle and numerous beautiful parks and gardens. Interested? You may want to check the list of Cardiff hotels nearest the spot that appeals to you.

In Leeds:

The Chair, a stunning work of art made of decommissioned AK-47 guns by sculptor Kester, can be found in one of the galleries in the Royal Armouries Museum, which is the oldest museum in the UK and one of the oldest museums in the world.
This museum displays the British national collection of arms and armor.

Henry Moore Institute

Other must-see museums in Leeds are the Henry Moore Institute which has a wide range of displays, not limited to but mostly sculpture collections; the Armley Mills, formerly one the largest wool mills in the world; and the Thackray Museum, which is one of the UK’s leading museums and tells the story of medicine and its development. (The Having A Baby gallery at Thackray is something I want Matt to see because I know one day I have to tell him what it’s like to be pregnant.)
Are you interested? You could check the list of Leeds hotels nearest the spot that appeals to you.

Lakwatsa, Lakwatsa!

Seen this around and I just couldn't resist doing this self check and see how much of a wanderer (in my own country) am I.

My Lakbayan grade is C!

How much of the Philippines have you visited? Find out at Lakbayan!

Dreaming Of The UK

I checked my Friendster account earlier and was treated to sights in England courtesy of a friend already living and working there. I saw pictures of their (his and her wife's) trips to the Wales, Scotland, London and lots more places in the UK.

I was just so green with envy because they had the pleasure to see museums and art galleries in Manchester without having to pay for airfare and without spending a dime on lodging in one of the hotels in Manchester.

And they could see palaces, cruise along the famous River Thames and loiter around London (maybe at the slightest whim) without spending much.

Bukingham Palace, London

Now, I just couldn't help but dream. If only I can board an airplane and book myself in one of the hotels in London – for FREE. It would be lovely to take a stroll at Hyde Park or the Kensington Garden and visit the Old Royal Conservatory.

Or if I suddenly found myself billeted in one of the hotels in Birmingham, by God, I would be heading straight to the Planetarium at Thinktank, which is the world's most advanced digital planetarium projection system, the very first minute.

Planetarium at Thinktank, Birmingham

If only.

Wordless Wednesday: Tagbilaran Cathedral

You bet that I'm not over Bohol yet! It's one of the places in PI that I want to re-visit -that is if time and budget permit. :D

For some history, read here. For more of Bohol, click here or here.

Out in the Sun

It was a beautiful day last Sunday, perfect for lazing outdoors so we decided to head to a nearby pool/beach place.

Taking the dip, with Papa.

Actually, this is Matt's pool debut. And he was so happy splashing waters and reaching out to the kids all around him.

Winning smile!

Wait a sec! I hear that he's not happy because I just heard howling in the other room as I am writing this. Gotta run before Matt wakes the whole household...be right back.

Minutes later...
(It's one of those middle-of-the-night wailings...er, wakings. He always seems like having a bad dream and keeps on saying "Mama, here. Mama, here." But okay, that's another post. :D)

Heading home after a perfect day at the pool.

I'm going back to bed now as my hub will be flying to a new work location early morning tomorrow. :D
