Updates and More

It's been awhile since I last posted here. Many things have happened in between.

One, I already reclaimed the PR3 pagerank of this site. Yahooo!

Second, I already delivered a beautiful and healthy baby girl. Hallelujiah! We all adore her.

Third, while I was on the hospital, I had the chance of watching a not-too-old movie entitled 21. After Avatar, I haven't got the time to stay long on the PC or TV to watch movies so it was a welcome change to sit back and watch a movie while recuperating from the delivery. I so enjoyed the movie.

BTW, 21 is about an MIT student who dreams of getting into Harvard Medical School, but doesn't have the money to finance it. In a stroke of luck, he impressed one of professors who invited him to join a group of students whom he secretly "trained" to become card counting experts to beat the casinos. According to Wiki, the film, directed by Robert Luketic, was inspired by the story of the MIT Blackjack Team.

For me, it was exciting to see these smart students having a "double life." I haven't played casino games, not even in an online casino, in my entire life and so I am totally, totally thrilled to see the group's success at the casinos. I don't understand the game but I am amazed at the card-counting techniques they use to win in the blackjack games. In a scale of 1 to 5, I rate the movie with a 4. And that said, I am tempted to try some casino softwares and learn to play blackjack so I can at least get the idea of what the blackjack team was doing. *smiles*

Avatar

Before 2009 ended, I had wondered what the loud buzz about the movie Avatar is all about.
Finally, I was able to watch Avatar and wonder no more. I do count myself lucky for the chance to watch this beautiful movie, although not in the moviehouse (where the 3D effects will be much appreciated). I watched it in the office while keeping my watch of our network (there wasn't so much going on during my shift so I had the time).
Avatar is a movie written and directed by James Cameron, one of the driving forces behind blockbuster movies such as Titanic, Terminator, Aliens, etc.. The plot is all about a paraplegic who was sent to an extraordinary mission in a place called Pandora. In an uncanny twist of fate, he falls inlove with the place and its people and is "torn between following his orders and protecting the world he feels is his home.” ( Imdb.com) The movie Avatar stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver.
From start to finish, I must say I was "taken along" in the story. I love everything about it-the special effects, the plot and its subtle message about taking care of the environment (or was it only me who thinks there's a hint of that message there?*smile*). Overall, I give it a double thumbs up.

So so Love X-men Origins: Wolverine

On with my movie exploits (what a term! To be honest, I've seen only a few but with my busy sked the count is pretty surprising to me), I forgot to mention this before but I just have to blog that I've seen the leaked copy of X-men Origins: Wolverine earlier this month (okay, who didn't?).

Okay, I don't intend to make a spoiler post but lemme just say that I totally, totally love it that I would love to see it again on the Silverscreen. If you've not seen it, I believe it's better to see it on the big screen.

I wonder when it will hit the movie theaters here but I'll wait as I'm sure it will be worth the wait. As for other countries, I've read on Wiki the ff release dates:

United Kingdom:
April 29, 2009
Australia & New Zealand: April 30, 2009
United States & Canada: May 1, 2009

Changeling

I saw the movie Changeling, which stars Angelina Jolie, last night and I couldn't help but shed tears. I actually thought I won't do that but down at the end, in the scene where another lost boy who was found was interrogated, hearing the boy say "I miss my Mom, I miss home" got really to me.

This is a late blurb but I gotta say I love the film. Every mother should watch this one. I love the story, setting and costumes - although I can't help but notice that Christine Collins (Angelina) wore the same coat after 5 or so years. A movie about love, hope, courage, friendship and motherhood, I think Changeling, based on a true story, is one of the brilliant movies Angelina has made.

Read the plot from here.

He's Back, Sarah is Back, Prison Break is Back

Went is back! Wentworth Miller and the cast of Prison Break is very much back in town. I've been longing to see Sarah (Callies) with Went in Prison Break for so long already and guess what... no, I'm sure you already know... but now I don't have to long for it anymore. No, no, no! Sarah is definitely back. Oh yeah!

I've seen the first 2 episodes of Season 4 (yup, I'm late again!), and boy was I a happy chick. I can't wait to see what they're ALL really up to in Season 4...of course, I half figured it out already but I wanna see it all confirmed!

Monster Mom = Me

It's pure coincidence. Or is this a sign? But I saw the stars of My Monster Mom promote the movie on TV and I had to laugh because at I have been feeling like a monster mom myself.

Lots of scenarios at home. Lots of emotions. Lots of incidents. At the moment, I just don't feel like putting it all into words (either on this blog or my other one) because I know I'll only end up to be more than an emotional wreck (as it is, I already am!). I can just imagine the post to be hilariously serious and seriously hilarious. Sappy and HORRIBLE. And I am already feeling horrible in my capacity as a parent. But this I have to say, I really am groping in the parenting department. But I'm trying to be a good monster mom. *wink*

Anyway, about this flick, My Monster Mom seems like a good comedy offering from two production outfits in the country- GMA Films and Regal Films. I hope it will do good in terms of movie sales. I'm not watching it but I hope those who will watch it will be satisfied (and those who have watched it are satisfied).
